Ian was a founder member of ETPG when working for the major UK test publisher NFER-NELSON. He became secretary of the group in 2002. After a career in general publishing he specialized in the publishing, marketing and application of assessments in clinical, educational and business markets.
Ian set up his own business, Only Connect, in 2002. In addition to his work for the ETPG he provides marketing, consultancy and authorship to test developers and publishers. He has written interviews with many psychologists in the last 15 years: they appear in The Psychologist, the British Psychological Society journal. Ian recently qualified as a business coach with the prestigious firm Meyler Campbell. He is delivering a series of workshops on new approaches to coaching at the annual UK Special Interest in Coaching Psychology Conference. He also delivers workshops on writing, poetry in business, public relations, creativity and the future of assessment.
Ian was visiting lecturer in Context Projects for final year Advertising Graphic Design students at Central St Martins College of Art and Design. He is a published novelist, poet and librettist: he also undertakes ghost-writing projects. He is presently co-editing a book on Emerging Conversations in Coaching Psychology.
